Praise and

BLESSED
SACRAMENT
("The Roman Catholic Church has consistently held fast to the belief in the
Real Presence. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
The mode of Christ's presence under the Eucharistic
species is unique. It raises the Eucharist above all the
sacraments as "the
perfection of the spiritual life and the end to which all sacraments tend." In
the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist "the body and blood, together
with
the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole
Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained." "This presence is
called 'real' -
by which is not intended to exclude the other types of presence
as if they could not be 'real' too, but because it is presence in the fullest
sense: that is to say, it is
a substantial presence by which Christ, God
and man, makes himself wholly and entirely present."
- The Catechism of the Catholic Church:
paragraph 1374")

Immaculate and is one of the largest outdoor Shrines in North America. 1

Devotion to
Mary under the title of Our Lady of the Snows dates back to 352 A.D.
According to legend, on the hot,
sultry night of August 4, in that year, Our Lady appeared to a childless,
wealthy Roman couple and to Pope Liberius in a dream. She expressed a wish
that a
church be built in her honor in Rome. She told them that the site
for the church would be covered with a blanket of snow. On the morning of August 5,
when
the citizens of Rome awoke, the Esquiline Hill was covered with snow,
even though the weather was extremely warm. All Rome proclaimed the summer
snow
a miracle, and the couple accepted this as a sign that they were to
use their wealth to help build the church. This Church is the
Basilica
of St. Mary Major. Miracle of Our Lady of the Snows is
remembered in a double celebration at the Basilica. In fact, during
the Mass, soft, white dalia petals are scattered around the church, while
at night the outside of the church is covered in artificial snow in
remembrance of the miraculous August snow-fall. The first chapel on the
right of the basilica houses a painting by Paglia which depicts the double
Appearance of
the Virgin (see painting) to the Pope and Giovanni.

(Note: H.G. Anba Kyrillos William Metropolitan of
the Coptic Catholic Congregation
in Assiut mentions a report written in
Spanish on 11/4/2000 by a Latin Catholic nun from Columbia (Sr. Daisy
Martiin Puantas).
She wrote: "For the glory of God I am recounting my
experience during my visit to Assiut. I saw the luminous apparition rays over
the Church of St. Mark.
This occurred on 28 October 2000. We went near the
church and I could see during that night the intermittent light as it covered
the church towers and domes. The lights
were coming from above and cannot be
defined; they are heavenly lights of Divine nature, not human nature. I was
very impressed by the faith of the crowds, their
reactions, chants and hymns.
It was as if they were the Apostles gathered around the Holy Virgin on
Pentecost day. You could always see the joy and enthusiasm on their
faces
while they were witnessing these heavenly luminous rays. God is showing
Himself to His people in a visible way like this Light, which symbolises His
love to us.")
- Our Lady of LaSalette, France:

- Our Lady of Knock,
Ireland.. On the
21st of August 1879, Our
Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared at the south gable of
Knock Parish Church. The apparition was witnessed by fifteen
people, young
and old. From this miraculous occurrence Knock has grown to the status of an
internationally recognised Marian Shrine. The
personal
pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II in 1979, commemorating the
centenary of the apparition, inspired an even greater devotion to the Shrine
and endorsed the indelible
seal of Vatican approval. Mother Teresa of
Calcutta visited the Shrine in June of 1993. One and a half million pilgrims
visit the Shrine annually

Workers of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
International of Garabandal:
On
July 2, 1961, The Blessed Virgin Mary as Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared to four girls
in Garabandal, Spain. They were first visited by an angel in June; and over
the
course of the next twelve days he continued to appear to them . It was on the angel's last
visit that he first spoke to the girls and announced that the Blessed Virgin
Mary would
appear to them as Our Lady of Mount Carmel the following day. And thus it was
so. Update: Three of the four visionaries have married Americans
and
live in the United States. They lead exemplary Christian lives totally dedicated to their
vocations as wives and mothers. Conchita has four children, Mari Loli, three,
and Jacinta,
one. Mari Cruz is also married, living in Spain and has four children.
Note: The local bishop does not object to messages being promoted on the
internet.
- Our Lady of Health
. The Blessed Virgin appeared in the 16th century in India where many miracles took place at this site. A shrine was built and in 1962,
the Holy Father, Pope John XXIII, raised the status to Basilica.

First
American-born male declared venerable. He was a simple Capuchin priest who

this unassuming monk was a conduit of God's Loving mercy and healing.
During his lifetime, Father Solanus Casey was often heralded as a 20th century
saint and on
July 11, 1995, Pope John Paul II declared him to be
"venerable," the first official step toward sainthood. People
flocked to him. Those looking for cures
from cancer, heart disease,
tuberculosis. Those seeking help for broken marriages, broken hearts, and broken
lives. Those wanting to find spiritual health and renewal.
To each person,
Father Solanus brought an aura of God's goodness and grace." (Sunday

Feminists for Life.
New Ad series that can be
downloaded. A group of "pro-life
feminists" is shaking up college campuses. Feminists
for Life sponsors posters and ads that are placed in college newspapers
and
on bulletin boards to challenge students to rethink their views about abortion.
The group also asks college and university administrators to provide students
with
information about alternatives to abortion and about post-abortion trauma.
..."Abortion-rights activists promised us a world of equality,
reduced poverty,"
one ad reads. "A world where every child would be
wanted. Instead, child abuse has escalated, and rather than shared
responsibility for children, even more of the
burden has shifted to women. No
law can make the wrong choice right." A photo in the ad pictures a group of
young women holding a poster that reads, "Question
abortion."
..."If you would like to work on securing non-violent choices for women
or need information on pregnancy resources, please contact us,"
another ad
says. The ads attract
attention, according to the Washington, D.C.-based group, which describes
itself
as pro-woman and pro-life.
..."College students are constantly told to challenge the status
quo," said Serrin M. Foster, president of Feminists for Life.
"Twenty-seven years after the Roe v. Wade decision, abortion has become the
status quo."
(Crosswalk.com/Religion/10.30.00)
...
this process of healing from abortion isn't about
who you are and what you've done, it is about who He is and what
He has done. When I look back at where I have come from, the guilt, the shame,
the grief, it is with continual amazement and a deep joy and gratitude that I
live my life now. Instead of doubting His love and goodness towards me, I have
come to expect ...
